While the majority of people clamor for bigger batteries in phones, brands are also finding ways to quickly (and safely) juice up those large cells. To date, OPPO’s 50w SuperVOOC is the fastest in the market: found on the R17 Pro, the tech can juice up the R17 Pro’s 3700mAh battery (divided to two 1850mah cells) in 35 minutes flat.
Xiaomi introduced their 100w fast charging tech a few months back, and vivo decided to up the ante with their 120w fast charging solution. Called Super FlashCharge, vivo’s solution can juice up a 4000mAh battery from 0 to 100 in 13 minutes—4 minutes faster than Xiaomi’s solution.
vivo is expected to showcase the tech at MWC 2019 Shanghai next week.
