While everyone is eagerly waiting for the all-new Pixel 6 series, Google went on to announce their latest mid-range offering with the Pixel 5a. As the name implies, it is a scaled-down version of the Pixel 5 but offers a few upgrades in certain aspects when compared to the previous-generation Pixel 4a 5G.

Unlike previous -a models, the Pixel 5a rocks a unibody aluminum body that gives it an IP67 rating, which makes it essentially a pared-down version of the Pixel 5. Design-wise, it looks very identical to the previous-generation Pixel 4a 5G. The internals and cameras remain the same: Snapdragon 765G, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, dual rear cameras (12-megapixel main camera and 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera), and 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
The Pixel 5a, however, has a slightly bigger 6.34-inch OLED display and a 4680mAh battery with 18w charging. There will only be one color, which is Mostly Black. If you want to make the Pixel 5a unique, Google will be offering different silicone cases for it.
The Pixel 5a is available for pre-order in the US and Japan for $449(~Php 22.7k). Currently, you cannot buy it in the Philippines, so those who want the Pixel 5a will need to order abroad.
