Cherry is Still Strong in the Tablet Market for 2023

While it recently made its return with phones, Cherry still has a solid presence when it comes to tablets. What’s also impressive about Cherry maintaining its top 2 status is the shrinking market for tablets in the Philippines, as shipments return to pre-pandemic levels and government agencies shifting priorities when it comes to procuring tablets for educational purposes.

Aside from its usual fare of budget tablets, Cherry has a few unique ones like the AIO1, which is a large 15-inch tablet that has a Kompanio 500 processor and functions more like an all-in-one device for just Php 12k. Cherry even has a premium tablet with the Aqua Tab Ultra, which boasts a 10.4-inch 2K display and a Unisoc T618 processor that performs at par with the popular Snapdragon 680.

As for Samsung, its main driver in the tablet market is the Galaxy Tab A9 and S9 FE series, which accounted for 40% of the shipments in Q4 2023 in the Philippines. Samsung recently gave the Galaxy Tab A9 a 50% off promo price, and the deal gained so much buzz that it sold out instantly when we spotted the deal during Valentine’s day.
