Samsung’s Affordable Galaxy Tab A9 Series is Coming

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and the larger Tab A9+, finally became available globally on October 3 after the two devices were silently introduced in several regions earlier this month.

Samsung’s newest devices are geared for content consumption and productivity, with the Galaxy Tab A9 sporting an 8.7-inch LCD display and the bigger Tab A9+ using an 11-inch 90hz display – the largest screen ever fitted on a Galaxy A series tablet, according to Samsung.

The two also differ internally as a Helio G99 SoC powers the Tab A9, while the Tab A9+ comes with a Snapdragon 695 processor, which gives it 5G capabilities. While both have speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, the Galaxy Tab A9 has two speakers, while the Tab A9+ has a quad-speaker system.

Outside of those differences, both the Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ have an 8-megapixel main camera and come with Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 out of the box, along with MicroSD card expansion.

Samsung did not specify which countries will get the Galaxy Tab A9 series, but we expect the Philippines to have them soon. The brand’s Malaysia’s website lists the WiFi+LTE Galaxy Tab A9 for RM 899, or around Php 10,600 for the 4GB/64GB variant.

The Galaxy Tab A9+ will come in two versions: a WiFi-only version that’s priced at RM 1,099 or around Php 13,000, and a WiFi+5G version that’s priced at RM 1,649 or around Php 19,500. Both variants get 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
