Huawei Announces P10 And P10 Plus

Huawei has officially announced the next generation of their original Leica co-engineered phone – the P10 and P10 Plus. Just like the LG G6, Huawei’s P10 and P10 Plus have been leaked several times earlier, and today we’re finally getting a glimpse of the new phone and what it offers.

The P9 and P9 Plus was the first foray of Huawei with German camera maker Leica, paving the way for more partnerships with the legendary brand. Today the company has officially showed off the next iteration of the dual-camera smartphone, and it definitely looks promising.

Huawei has a thing for full HD displays. Despite most of their competitors going with QHD (or higher) displays, the Chinese brand has stubbornly refused to go with the higher resolution display. Well, that’s no longer the case for the new phones – the P10 still has a full HD display but the P10 Plus will now come with a QHD display. Just like before, the P10 has a 5.1-inch display while the P10 Plus has a 5.5-inch display. The new phones will also be available in Dazzling Blue and Greenery, colors made possible with their collaboration with Pantone. Other colors include Graphite Black, Dazzling Gold, Rose Gold, White Ceramic, Mystic Silver and Prestige Gold.

For the next iteration of the Leica-branded phone, Huawei has gone with the new Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 Pro Edition setup. Basically, the cameras now sport a f/1.9 Summilux-H lens and a revamped pair of camera sensors, with one being 12-megapixel for color and another 20-megapixel for monochrome shots. Both now have OIS capability, as well as a four-in-one hybrid autofocus system.

Inside the phone is familiar hardware, at least if you’ve used the company’s Mate 9 smartphone – a Kirin 960 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (with the P10 Plus having the option to get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage) as well as Android Nougat and EMUI 5.1. The P10 gets a big 3200mAh battery while the P10 Plus gets an even bigger 3750mAh cell. Both phones will support quick charging via SuperCharge.
