Trying to log back on will give you a password incorrect error, even if you reset your password (which we initially did thinking that we’ve been hacked). The Facebook log out problem is affecting a large portion of users in the Philippines, and seemingly also is affecting log-ins to Instagram as well.

UPDATE:
It looks like it’s not a local issue as other countries are also experiencing the same thing. Reporting from international outlets say that internal Facebook systems were also down, which may have been the culprit for today’s outage. DownDetector is reporting a huge spike in reports around 11:30 PM, which coincides with the time that we got logged out of our account.

As of 12:23 AM, we’re now able to log into our account. Other users are still not able to log into their account so it seems that the problem is still widespread.

Facebook had a similar outage back in October 2021, when Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other connected apps had a far longer, six-hour outage. Facebook execs blamed the issue on “a faulty configuration change” on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic among its data centers.
