Infinix NOTE 40 5G: A Competitive Mid-Range Gaming Phone for Php 13k

Infinix has leveled up its mid-range lineup with the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, which offers a lot of features at under Php 14k. This also marks the first time a NOTE series phone gets a curved AMOLED display. Those who prefer a flat AMOLED display can go for the NOTE 40 5G, which is just as compelling as its Pro+ sibling.

The NOTE 40 5G completes Infinix’s lineup for the NOTE 40 series in the Philippines, and we break it down for you why you are also getting good value with it:

Versatile charging options. While the NOTE 40 5G’s wired charging is only at 33w, you still get Infinix’s 15w MagCharge system, allowing you to charge the phone wirelessly–a feature you’d rarely find on a mid-range device. The 33w wired charging can top up the 5000mAh battery in around 1.5 hours, while the MagCharge system (or wireless charging) can fully top up the battery in around 2 hours.

It’s also part of Infinix’s collaboration with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The NOTE 40 5G gets a special packaging that highlights Esmeralda’s new skin in the game. The special packaging also makes it a collectible piece, especially for big fans of Mobile Legends. Infinix is also the official sponsor of MPL Philippines, and the NOTE 40 5G is just as good enough when it comes to gaming.

It’s great for games. Like the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, the NOTE 40 5G uses a Dimensity 7020 processor, which is powerful enough to run MLBB flawlessly at 60FPS with the graphics cranked up to the highest settings. It’s also good enough to handle demanding games like Genshin Impact, where you can push the game beyond 30FPS at medium graphics.

Aside from the processor, the NOTE 40 5G comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage for all your needs, making it one of the most affordable phones to have half a terabyte of storage–not to mention UFS 3.1 type of storage.

Solid audio-visual experience. Aside from having JBL-tuned speakers that do sound great, you also get a 6.78-inch 120hz LTPO AMOLED display that has slim, symmetrical bezels that you’d normally find on more expensive phones. It has a high brightness range of 1300nits, and its 240hz touch sampling rate for solid input feedback while playing games. You also get an in-display fingerprint scanner as well, making the NOTE 40 5G offer better value compared to the competition.

Capable cameras. The NOTE 40 5G has a 108-megapixel main camera that can do 3x digital zoom. You’re getting the same sensor as the one used on the NOTE Pro+ 5G, so the image quality is just as good even when you utilize the 3x digital zoom feature.

The 108-megapixel main camera takes generally good photos in most lighting conditions, making the NOTE 40 5G a decent phone for photography.

When it comes to videos, the NOTE 40 5G can shoot Full HD resolution at up to 60FPS and 2K resolution at up to 30FPS.

Lots of value-added features. Beyond the NOTE 40 5G’s highlights, you are getting your money’s worth with it at under Php 13k. You get the MagCharge system (charging puck and case) as part of the bundle, along with an Active Halo breathing light on the back that’s customizable according to your needs, and an IP53 rating for peace of mind especially with the upcoming rainy weather.

The Infinix NOTE 40 5G is priced at Php 12,999 and will be available on May 23, 2024 in TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada. Infinix will have a promo price for the NOTE 40 5G in TikTok Shop, where you can get it for Php 9,999 from May 23 to 25.

Aside from the NOTE 40 5G, there’s also the NOTE 40 4G which is priced at Php 9,499 and is available at Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. The 4G version is powered by a Helio G99 processor and has most of the features of its 5G sibling.
