We brought the vivo V30 along with us to Singapore and used it as our go-to travel camera, and see how it is a sleek and stylish phone for travel photography.

One of the places that people often visit in Singapore is Orchard Road, which is best known as a shopping district with large stores. One of the biggest stores along Orchard Road is Nike, which spans 3 floors full of Nike products that include an exclusive space where you can customize your sneakers and apparel. The interior is eye-catching, and the V30’s ultra-wide camera gives justice in appreciating its breathtaking interiors.

The V30 has one of the best ultra-wide cameras in its class, and we saw its full potential when we visited Fort Canning Park, which is famous for its tunnel that’s very Instagram-worthy. We chanced upon a model posing by the famous tunnel, and while the 50-megapixel main camera took a great shot, the photo taken from the 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera best showcased Fort Canning Park’s tunnel with a unique perspective that has minimal distortion.

Another fun place to maximize the V30’s upgraded ultra-wide camera is at Haji Lane, which is famous for its colorful buildings that include elaborate artwork that’s best appreciated when your camera has a wider field of view. The V30’s ultra-wide camera has a 119-degree FOV, and it also has autofocus to keep your subject in focus.

Mixed indoor lighting is not a big deal for the V30. When we visited MINT Museum of Toys, the V30’s main camera did a good job capturing the details of the rare vintage toys that the museum has in possession. That includes a very rare Popeye and Olive Oyl Tank toy, which is said to be one of 5 in existence.

vivo’s V series is known for its selfies, and the V30’s 50-megapixel selfie camera is a true performer. Aside from the high resolution, you also get eye autofocus to ensure your selfies are always in focus–regardless if you’re taking selfies outdoors or inside a room.

Singapore is not a concrete jungle: it also has a wildlife reserve that has one of the most diverse collections of birds with Mandai’s Bird Paradise. Some of the birds are friendly with humans, and the V30’s snappy camera performance allowed us to capture a few candid moments.

Just like previous V-series phones, the V30’s main camera has a solid 2x digital zoom feature that lets you get close to the subject with the same level of detail as the native 1x zoom. The 2x zoom proved to be handy in getting a closer look at these American Flamingos relaxing by Bird Paradise’s Crimson Wetlands area.

Singapore has a lively nightlife, and hawker centers like this one in Newton are bustling with people and stalls selling various dishes. It’s also one of the best places to try out Michelin-awarded dishes–trust us, there’s a lot in Singapore and hawker centers usually have this much-coveted award proudly displayed at their stalls. vivo has refined its low light algorithm with its V-series phones, so taking photos along Newton at night is a walk in the park with the V30.

Of course, a trip to Singapore is not complete without visiting Marina Bay Sands and the famous Gardens By the Bay–both looking stellar at night. With the upgraded ultra-wide camera, the V30 can take stellar low-light photos using both cameras. Trust us: taking a photo of Marina Bay Sands using the ultra-wide camera gives you a better perspective in appreciating its architecture.

Spending three days with the V30 in Singapore is a breeze: despite its thin 7.5mm profile, the V30 packs a 5000mh battery. That is a feat, as this is the thinnest phone in the market to pack a 5000mAh battery that’s found on many smartphones these days. The V30’s use of a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor makes it powerful in handling all image processing and power efficient at the same time–even with 5G data enabled, we were able to coast through a whole day of walking around Singapore without worrying about battery life.

If the great battery life is not enough, this slim and stylish phone also supports 80w charging, which allows you to fully charge the V30 to 100% in just 48 minutes!

The vivo V30 is priced at Php 24,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant and Php 27,999 for the 12GB/512GB variant, and is available at all authorized vivo stores and vivo’s official Shopee and Lazada stores.
