Who needs leaks anyway?
Instead of the usual route where upcoming phones get leaked before their official launch, OnePlus CEO decided to showcase what appears to be the OnePlus 8 Lite in a talk show.
The 1.5-hour show has Lao discussing with other OnePlus officials, with a tray containing dummy units of the upcoming OnePlus 8 Lite placed on the center of the table.
A close-up of the tray does confirm that the OnePlus 8 Lite will have a triple rear camera setup, along with a notched display that is reminiscent of Huawei’s P20 series. There are several color options for the OnePlus 8 Lite, with blue, white, yellow, and green as one of the possible colors.
The intentional appearance of the OnePlus 8 Lite confirms the triple rear camera setup but debunks the punch-hole display—being a mid-range phone, OnePlus is sticking to a dated notch design.
Being the first mid-range phone since the OnePlus X, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to have a Snapdragon 765G processor—the Snapdragon 855 will be reserved to the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
