Those in the market looking out for an affordable subcompact SUV that’s perfect for first time drivers or simply for a new daily are in for a treat. Toyota Motors Philippines will be releasing the 2022 Toyota Raize soon.
Since September, exports of the left-hand drive versions of the model have been seen here and there, making the local market even more excited for this new model.
Well, the time has finally arrived. Toyota Motors Philippines have officially started their marketing efforts for the 2022 Raize, with reservation slots opening on January 10, Monday and with a tentative launch date on February 4, given that the pandemic will not push it further back.
Toyota Motor Philippines is going to release four variants of the Raize. The standard engine has a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder mated to either a 5-speed manual or CVT. The standard version can produce around 88hp and up to 113Nm of torque. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line variant is equipped with a turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine capable of producing up to 98hp and 140Nm of torque mated to a CVT.
Expect the top of the line variant to be fully loaded. On the exterior, it will have a two-tone color scheme, LED headlights, sequential-type signal lights, power folding mirrors, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, other variants will come with halogen headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the top of the line variant is packed with features, such as a 7-inch TFT digital meter cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fabric and leather combination seats, and a smart keyless entry. Meanwhile, other variants will have simpler gauges and a smaller 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
As for safety features, the top of the line variant is equipped with 6 SRS airbags, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a rear camera, and back-up sensors. Meanwhile, all other variants will get dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control as standard equipment.
2022 Toyota Raize Price Philippines
The 2022 Toyota Raize in the Philippines has a price of Php 746,000 for M/T variant; Php 816,000 for CVT variant; Php 906,000 for mid-grade CVT variant; and Php 1,031,000 for top-of-the-line turbocharged variant.
Available colors are Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Red, Yellow/Black, Turquoise/Black, White Pearl/Black. Note that the White Pearl is considered as a premium color and has an additional fee of P5,000.
