Computex 2017: ASUS Shows Off the Sexy and Powerful ROG Zephyrus

World’s Slimmest Gaming Laptop

We’ve been accustomed to seeing really powerful notebooks from laptop manufacturers as of late; some of which are pretty crazy to bring around and require their own luggage, like: the Acer Predator X21 or even the ASUS ROG GX800 that recently graced our desks at Unbox HQ. We’ve also seen some pretty easy-to-bring gaming notebooks from the likes of Razer with the Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro, but brands are always trying to push the envelope. This is why ASUS and NVIDIA have teamed up, once again, to give us a slim and relatively light notebook that packs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 to let you game on the go.

Meet the ASUS ROG Zephyrus.

The new notebook is up to 18mm thin and only weighs roughly 2.2kg, which usually means that you’ll be sacrificing cooling solutions. The folks over at the Republic of Gamers assures us that their new new cooling solution will provide all the air flow the laptop needs. This new cooling solution is called the ROG Active Aerodynamic System, or ASS, and remains quieter than its competition as well. How quiet? Well, they slides say that it is 4.64x quieter than their competition.

As mentioned above, the team at ASUS’ Republic of Gamers worked closely with NVIDIA to make the new GTX 1080 GPU with Max-Q design a part of what makes the ASUS ROG Zephyrus such a thin and powerful laptop. Check out NVIDIA’s video introducing their newly designed GPUs.

Pricing and availability of the ROG Zephyrus hasn’t been announced yet. We will be keeping an eye out for this one though.
