If you are a Converge subscriber and have been complaining of rather lackluster internet speeds, Converge founder Dennis Anthony Uy posted on his official Facebook page one possible cause for the problem. In his post, he points out to diggings done by DPWH along Pasong Tamo in Makati for the fiber cuts affecting a number of Converge subscribers.
In his post that includes three photos of the said fiber cuts, Uy said that they are coordinating with various government agencies and proper authorities to avoid such unnecessary service interruptions. “We urge everyone for their cooperation so that we can serve our people better, especially during this time that internet connectivity has become our lifeline,” Uy said in its post.
Following Uy’s post, netizens have mixed reactions to it. While some agree that DPWH is to be blamed for the fiber cuts affecting several users, some pointed out that Converge’s contractors should be blamed instead. Those siding with DPWH said that Converge’s fiber cables are not buried deep enough to avoid being hit by any DPWH roadworks.
Fiber cuts aside, Converge is working hard on improving its services by providing wider internet coverage and faster speeds for all of its subscribers.
