It seems that Converge has made full use of consumers’ gripes with the big telecom players by grabbing some market share during the pandemic. Due to this, Converge has exponentially increased revenue and income amounts in 2021 as compared to previous years.

In a press release, the Internet Service Provider has proudly announced that they’ve experienced a 111% growth in its net income from 2020 to 2021, more than doubling it. The amount in question is PHP 7.2 billion, which is a far cry from the previous year’s already-successful PHP 3.4 billion. Total consolidated revenues reached PHP 26.5 billion compared to 2020’s PHP 15.2 billion, totalling to a 69% bump.

They attribute the undeniable success they’ve experienced to their continuous push in Luzon as well as expansion to the Visayas and Mindanao areas. According to Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy, their services are currently covering around 42.5% of Filipino households in 495 cities spanning 103,000 km of fiber connections. For next year, they’ve set an optimistic goal of 55% household adoption and have installed more than 650,000 ports in just the final quarter of 2021 alone in order to prepare for a boom in 2022.

They’ve spent around PHP 26-28 billion on capital expenses this year in order to set up more infrastructure, also an increase from previous years. However, these are definitely viewed as the company’s investment for its future, in order to provide better service and outdo its competitors.

There appear to be no plans to slow down or take a rest for Converge despite their successful revenue in 2021. Giants in the industry better be on the lookout or they’ll get caught up to sooner than they think, especially in a time where everyone depends on a reliable internet connection for everyday life.
