After Putin ordered to invade Ukraine, gas prices have been increasing non-stop in the Philippines. To ensure nobody is taking advantage of the situation, the Department of Energy (DOE) has requested motorists to report gas stations with unreasonable prices.

In Metro Manila, gasoline currently costs P60 to P83 per liter while diesel costs P52 to P65. According to Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rino Abad, prices should not exceed any more than that. However, in other provinces, the price of a liter of gasoline is nearing P100 while diesel is nearing P80.

The Department of Energy (DOE) is now doing everything in its capacity to prevent fuel overpricing across the country, including asking consumers to report high or unreasonable prices to them.

“We will not allow na may panloloko. If you think na mataas, anything na mataas, we will check. If it goes beyong the range, may presumption ‘yan na dapat silang magpaliwanag,” said Energy Undersecretary Gerardo Erguiza.

The local agency said the Philippines has an adequate supply of oil despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, simply because our oil supply comes from the Middle East and the Asia Pacific. However, the government is incapable of stopping the continuous price hike.

If you want to report a gas station for its unreasonable prices, you may reach DOE through its website.
