Smart TVs for Consumers

Aside from introducing their ginormous 88-inch OLED TV for CES 2018, LG will be introducing new tech for its 2018 OLED TVs. These are the ThinQ AI and ? (Alpha) 9 processor.

ThinQ AI introduces TVs to the world of smart homes, where users can take advantage of voice assistance by speaking through the TV’s remote. In addition, ThinQ AI gives TVs the ability to communicate with other smart products at home, ranging from robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, air purifiers, smart lights, to smart speakers via WiFi or Bluetooth. With DeepThinQ, LG’s deep learning tech, setting up TVs will be more streamlined, tailored according to the user’s needs.

The ? (Alpha) 9 processor, on the other hand, improves image resolution with true-to-life images and rich colors through features such as a four-step noise reduction system, improved color correction algorithm, and support for frame rates as high as 120 FPS.

LG will go into detail about these two new TV tech at CES 2018.
