First Shots: Nokia 6

Today we gave you our first thoughts on the Nokia 6, the first pure Android smartphone that bears the Finnish brand’s name. In that unboxing we gave you rough idea of how the phone looks and feels in the hand. In this article we’ll be giving you a quick look at what the 16-megapixel rear camera is capable of delivering.

Nokia’s camera prowess is well known throughout the tech industry, unfortunately none of the features or the branding that made previous devices great are present on the Nokia 6. No PureView tech or Carl-Zeiss partnerships here, you’re just getting a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front.

That’s not to say that the camera on the Nokia 6 is a pushover. There’s a laser AF unit built into the camera module, as well as PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. No 4K recording unfortunately – all videos top out at full HD.

Anyway, you can check out some of the photos that we took with the phone’s camera above. Expect to see our full review of the Nokia 6 next week.
