NEW ERA: Nokia Changes Logo for First Time in Almost 60 Years

While Nokia has been struggling in recent years, the brand still manages to unveil new phones–even though they can be very, very pricey. The Nokia G22 is an interesting direction towards making phones sustainable, and their plans of manufacturing phones in Europe is just as ambitious.

To further elaborate on this new era of Nokia, the iconic smartphone brand is ditching its logo for the first time in almost 60 years for a refreshing new one that associates them with being a company that is more than just selling smartphones.

“There was the association to smartphones and nowadays we are a business technology company,” Chief Executive Pekka Lundmark told Reuters in an interview.

The new Nokia logo consists of five different shapes to form the word, representing the different things the company does. Aside from selling smartphones and telecom equipment to companies, it also aims to sell other products like private 5G networks and gears for automated factories to its customers.

“The signal is very clear. We only want to be in businesses where we can see global leadership,” Lundmark added.

This will be interesting to see for the new era of Nokia, as its planned direction means that it will be challenging big tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google in the process.
