Nokia Announces 5 New Phones For 2022

HMD Global has decided to add to the CES 2022 festivities by unveiling 5 US-exclusive (for now) Nokia phones to be released during the first half of the year, according to The Verge.

These 5 devices would still be considered in the budget category by today’s standards, with the most expensive topping off at $239. With the price point of these devices out of the way, we’ll introduce each one.

Starting off with the resurrection of the original Nokia 2760 phone released 15 years ago, the 2760 Flip makes its way to the market sometime during Q1 this year. It runs on KaiOS with 4G LTE connectivity and 32GB of internal storage with microSD card support. It comes in at $79.

Following up next are the Nokia C series phones, C100 and C200. They are priced at $99 and $119 respectively. The C100 comes with a 5.45-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 3,000 mAh battery. A bit up the ladder is the C200 with its 6.1-inch display and 4,000 mAh battery, although the camera modules are likely to be the same. Both are rumored to run on Android 12 software based on a report by Gadgets 360.

As for the last two G-series phones in this release, HMD Global has revealed these to be the G100 and G400 devices. The G100 comes in at $149 while the G400 tops this list (although that’s not saying much) at $239. The cheaper option of the two has a 6.5-inch display, 5,000 mAh battery capacity, and a fingerprint scanner. Other specifications will be sent out by HMD Global once the device nears its consumer market release.

Being the only 5G device in this array of 2022 Nokia phones, the G400 boasts relatively higher specifications. Its 6.6-inch screen has a 120Hz refresh rate which is a bargain at the price point, while the lights are kept on by a 5,000 mAh battery. Multitasking can be performed with 6GB of onboard RAM and 128GB of storage. At the rear resides a triple-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel ultrawide, and 2-megapixel macro for those close-up shots. The processor remains undisclosed, but we can guess that a lower-midrange chip will be used in this smartphone.
