You probably know about Ookla, the global leader in internet testing, data, and analysis. In their most recent findings, they found Smart to be the “Most Reliable 5G Mobile Operator” in the Philippines for Q2 2021.

Smart Communications received the award after getting the highest scores in 5G consistency and 5G availability. The 5G Consistency is calculated based on the percentage of a provider’s users that meet minimum download and upload speeds, while 5G Availability identifies the network whose users spend the highest percentage of their time on 5G.

Smart achieved an outstanding score of 89.78% in the 5G Consistency, followed by Globe’s 78.15%. Smart is also better in terms of  5G Availability, with a score of 14.67% versus Globe’s 11.86%.

“This claim recognizes Smart commitment to delivering best reliability to their customers across the Philippines,” said Ookla CEO Doug Suttles in a statement.

Prior to this, Ookla also acknowledged Smart as the country’s Fastest 5G Mobile Network in Q1-Q2 2021. Smart’s 5G network is supported by parent company PLDT’s fiber network, which is the country’s most extensive at more than 524,000 kilometers as of end-June.
