The Smart 5G Rocket WiFi shakes up the market as the newest, fastest pocket-wifi in town. This thing is like a pocket WiFi on steroids, tapping onto Smart’s 5G network. Because this pocket WiFi uses 5G instead of the regular LTE-A that their previous pocket WiFi utilizes, it’s capable of doing up to 1000 Mbps if the stars align. It also has a bigger 5000mAh battery and can connect up to 15 devices at once.
For now, this device is only being offered via postpaid through the Smart Signature Data Plan S. The plan costs Php 1,324 per month for 36 months, with a one-time cashout of Php 5,300. Smart’s Data Plan S comes with 20GB per month to cover all online activities. The plan also includes data rollover, so all unused data from the previous month will be carried over to the next month. Smart eventually plans to offer this 5G pocket-wifi to prepaid subscribers as well.
Smart’s 5G network is present in 1,400 sites across the country. Their 5G network is continuously being rolled out in Metro Manila which you can find via Waze, as well as in select areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Smart’s 5G network recently went live in Benguet, Misamis Oriental, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
