SIBOL Team Blacklist International Defends Gold In MLBB SEA Games

It is always a good day when your representative team wins, and that is exactly what we have here. The SIBOL ESports team Blacklist International has won another gold in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament, this 2022 Hanoi SEA Games.

This victory comes as the country’s 2nd e-sports gold medal in this competition, after the Women’s Wild Rift team blitzed through the competition to win it all.

Tier One Entertainment’s official Blacklist International team is not new to victory. After all, they were the defending champions even before today’s events and still continue to be the ones to beat. This team had to get past Malaysia, Laos, and Myanmar in the group stages to secure a spot and move forward. After a close playoffs 2-1 series win against Singapore, the finals against powerhouse team Indonesia began today.

There was much speculation about this matchup for the SIBOL Blacklist MLBB team. After all, MLBB personality Akosi Dogie voiced out publicly that our local team would only have a 10% chance of beating Indonesia if faced against them. He then listed reasons such as a stronger META, team changes, and other factors that led to this number. This opinion of his led to some backlash because it was contrary to Filipino optimism. Understandably, now it is trending on Twitter as netizens are making him eat his words.

Games against Indonesia were not without their challenges though. Comebacks and precise turnarounds were required, but the team finally ground out a 3-1 win over the fearsome opponents. The team has successfully defended its rightful crown.

The team members for this 2022 roster, led by Coach Kristoffer Ed “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, are as follows:

  • Jonmar “OhmyV33NUS” Villaluna
  • Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario
  • Kyle Dominic “Dominic” Soto
  • Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales
  • Salic “Hadji” Imam
  • Dexter Louise “Dex Star” C. Alaba
  • Aniel “Master The Basics” Jiandani
  • Russel Aaron “Eyon” Usi

We’re still competing in other games as of now though. Games today include the Arena of Valor group stages, the League of Legends PC battles, and the PUBG Mobile Finals. We hope you all are on the edge of your seats because we definitely are! Follow our page to keep posted and visit the SIBOL official page for more info.
