The All-New Hyundai STARGAZER Has Just Launched In The Philippines

Hyundai Motor Philippines has officially brought in the Hyundai STARGAZER, its latest entry into the local MPV segment. The brand aims to reinvigorate the field with its offering’s unique styling, advanced driver assistance technologies, and quality-of-life upgrades over its competitors. This was all explained in a launch event held last night, November 8, at the SM Aura Samsung Hall.

Present at the event were HMPH top executives spearheaded by President Mr. Dongwook Lee.

He and his team discussed their latest product in great detail, highlighting its showstopping features and incredible value.

The first thing one will notice about the latest Hyundai STARGAZER in the Philippines is its forward-thinking styling cues. It looks much like its bigger sibling, the Staria, which is a good thing since that people carrier is a looker as well. Its front sports a boldly styled skid plate, flush-type radiator grille, and unique multi-face reflector (MFR) headlights. The fascia is rounded out with a horizontal LED strip that cuts across and integrates the Day Time Running Lights (DRL) and positioning lamps. These all surround a sizeable grille with a fractal design for cooling.

Hyundai boasts that the STARGAZER possesses an industry-leading 2780mm wheelbase for maximum road presence and size. Despite this, it maintains a sleek look due to its fluid shape contrasted by its angular wheel arches to add a bit of variety to the exterior. Windows have also been strategically placed along the chassis to provide the driver with reduced blind spots and easy drivability.

Things don’t change at the rear. The taillights also run across the chassis much like in front, making for a consistent design language. Triangular elements add sharpness to its exterior and everything else is kept clean and simple, yet sleek.

On the inside, the cabin is apparently inspired by “modern furniture” while we see hints of “spaceship” all throughout. Multiple shades of greys and muted colors adorn the panels, with a digital instrument cluster and sizeable 8-inch touchscreen display propelling this car to 2022 standards. Keep in mind that it’s compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto! There are multiple device holders within the space with even a wireless charging dock below the main A/C panel. Meanwhile, the instrument cluster will also change depending on which of the four drive modes the user selects.

Space is also not a concern here. This MPV can seat seven, although the final row is a bit of a squeeze as expected. Headroom and legroom for the first and second-row occupants are industry-leading though which makes this a perfect vehicle for the Filipino family. For small trinkets and items, 31 cubbies make themselves available for storage.

Under the hood is a 1.5 Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT) engine producing 115 PS of power. This technology was specifically engineered to ensure a smoother driving experience with fewer hiccups, lags, and greater fuel economy.

Advanced driver assist functions such as Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Lane Keep Assist, Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and others are also present while the vehicle is in motion. Parking has also never been easier due to the help of some intelligent technologies on this end as well.

Hyundai STARGAZER Price Philippines

Shockingly enough, the Hyundai STARGAZER will start in the Philippines just below the PHP 1 million mark at PHP 998,000. Upper models are priced at PHP 1.128M and 1.218M respectively. That’s a bit cheaper than its rivals, such as the Mitsubishi Xpander and Nissan Livina. Check this link out for more information.
