One of the most awaited car launches of the year is finally coming next month. Toyota’s most awaited hot hatch, the GR Yaris, has officially arrived in the Philippines. Toyota announced the official price of the GR Yaris as well as being available in 16 GR Performance dealers in the Philippines starting August 14, 2021.

There are many reasons why the GR Yaris is an exceptional car. For one, Toyota made the GR Yaris a 2-in-1 car. It can be used as a daily car while having the performance level of a sports car. Moreover, the GR Yaris is not like the usual homologation vehicle. Instead of being built from a normal road production vehicle, the Toyota GR Yaris was first developed purely as a motorsports vehicle first before being further built as a road vehicle.

The GR Yaris has an exterior that is sure to make a statement. The car has 3-tier LED headlights, LED rear combination lights, 18″ BBS forged alloy wheels, and a carbon-fiber roof. Meanwhile, the interior is brimming with niceties such as leather and suede seats, a smart entry system, and a push-start button.

The GR Yaris is equipped with an engine that is hailed as the world’s best inline 3. This engine, known as the G16E-GTS 3-cylinder inline DOHC 4-valve roller rocker engine, is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It produces 302 horsepower and 385Nm of torque. Together with the GR-Four 4-wheel drive system, the GR Yaris is a competitive rally-ready car in any road condition.

With the speed and driving potential of the car, Toyota did not compromise the car’s safety system. The GR Yaris is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense features (Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beam, Lane Trace Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control) which aids the driver in identifying and eliminating factors that may cause accidents. A standard for Toyota vehicles, the GR Yaris also comes with 6 SRS airbags, Anti-lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill-start Assist Control. Its Front and Rear Torsen Limited Slip Differential provides increased traction and improved stability for the vehicle.
