Twitter videos have long been a thing in the app. Now, Twitter is updating the app more grandly by introducing full screen videos that will mimic Tiktok.
Through the update, Twitter users will experience full screen immersive videos and a swipe up gesture feature that allows one to watch the next clips. In a user’s perspective, one may feel like they’re using Tiktok or Instagram reels.
Because Twitter is a very ‘word-concentrated’ app, users may find this update disturbing. The app developers say that users can navigate back to the original tweet format with just an easy click of the back button that can be seen at the top left corner of the video.
The update is now available on iOS devices and will soon be available on Android devices in the coming weeks.
Even Meta Faces Unprecedented Competition from TikTok
According to Meta, it has lost approximately $240 billion of market value due to daily users falling daily. As such, Mark Zuckerberg has advised employees to zero in on Instagram reels—their Tiktok-like feature.
“People have a lot of choices for how they want to spend their time, and apps like TikTok are growing very quickly,” Mark Zuckerberg stated
