Pyxis Cables

Let’s begin with something that’s extremely affordable and perfect for exchanging gifts with your officemates at the Christmas party. We’ve featured the Pyxis reversible cables a couple of months back and again a few weeks ago with the addition of the colorful BubbleGum variants, which have been expanded to include Lightning Cables for iOS users and USB Type-C Cables as well.

Of course, there are still the Magic Duo reversible cables that are aluminum braided and if you know someone who may need tougher Micro USB or Lightning Cables, this might make a great gift for them.

As we mentioned in the previous article for these cables, the Pyxis BubbleGum Cables and the Magic Duo Cables won’t cost more than Php 250.

zenASUS ZenPower

Considering our daily phone usage as well as other gadgets we carry when we leave our homes, it makes sense to ensure that they don’t run out of juice. Though launched in 2015, the ASUS ZenPower is still one of the best value-for-money powerbanks that you can get to date. It is relatively handy considering that it has 10,050mAh and is capable of topping up most smartphones at least twice.

The ASUS ZenPower also has 11 safety features that simply put, guarantees that it doesn’t blow up, overcharge, overheat or short circuit.

This bang-for-your-buck powerbank is priced at Php 795.

coloud

Coloud Headphones No. 4

Even during our podcast days, the Unbox team has always been a fan of Coloud Headphones. It is arguably the best earphones below Php 1000. Its earbuds are highly durable and multi-sized caps are available to ensure a snug and comfortable in-ear fit. It features magnetized earbuds that snap around the neck for easy access and a tangle-free cord that comes with a clip. Just like other Coloud Headphones, the No.4 variant has a built-in mic and remote. In terms of sound quality, it said to be comparable to other headphones that are twice its price.

Coloud Headphones No.4 is available at Digital Walker for Php 950.

xiaomi

Xiaomi Yi Action Camera

We all know about Xiaomi particularly because they sell all sorts of products at a ridiculously low price. The Xiaomi Yi Action Camera is no exception. It features HD and full HD shooting at 60 FPS (and 120 FPS on 720) Wi-Fi connectivity and a 16-megapizel Sony-made BSI sensor, shooting at 155 degree FOV. While it is no Go Pro because it has no expansion port on the back of the camera which means that LCD displays aren’t possible and an app is necessary to operate it, it is still a good camera for those who simply want to document their trips with a portable camcorder.

The Xiami Yi Action Camera is available at Kimstore for Php 3,500.

Alternatively, people with a higher budget can also check out the Cherry Mobile Explorer 2. This active cam allows users to immediately post photos and videos taken with the camera without having to transfer them to a PC because it runs on Android. You can also livestream with the Explorer 2 with a good internet connection.

The Cherry Mobile Explorer 2 retails at Php 5,999. We were trying to keep product in this under 5k, but that little bump up isn’t much.
