The Swift 14 AI is the First Snapdragon Laptop from Acer

Qualcomm is looking to compete with Intel and AMD in the laptop market with its Snapdragon X Elite processors, and Acer is among the the first brands to use it with the Swift 14 AI. For its debut Snapdragon offering, Acer is offering the Swift 14 AI with either the Snapdragon X Elite or Snapdragon X Plus. The former is a 12-core design with 8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, while the latter is a 10-core design with 6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores.

Unlike Qualcomm’s previous Snapdragon chips, its Snapdragon X series make use of its custom Oryon CPU cores and have a built-in NPU that claims to go well with all the AI features found on Windows 11. One of the advantages of using ARM-based chips is insane battery life, and Acer claims that the Swift 14 AI is rated for as much as 16 hours on a single charge with its 75wHr battery.

Configuration options for the Swift 14 AI include up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB NVMe storage, and a 14.5-inch IPS displaty with a 120hz refresh rate, 4K resolution, and optional touchscreen functionality. The webcam can be configured with a 1440p one with a privacy shutter, and port options include an HDMI 1.4 port, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a headphone jack. The Swift 14 AI is also one of the few devices to support WiFi 7. Being an AI laptop, you get a dedicated Copilot key and a AcerSense key–both meant for managing AI features.

The Swift 14 AI will be available in the US in July with a starting price of $1099(~Php 64k). There’s no word if Acer (or any other brand) will bring these Snapdragon laptops to the Philippines.
