Converge Internet Recognized By Netflix As Best ISP In December 2021

With pandemic quarantine restrictions forcing us all back into our homes, our sources of entertainment have become limited once again. Some people come to realize that they are unsatisfied with their network service performance because their everyday life now hinges on it – from online work to binge-watching movies afterward. To give this a more objective perspective, Netflix periodically releases its ISP Speed Index with the average speeds of each provider. At the end of 2021, Converge and its internet reigned supreme with an average of 3.6 Mbps, edging out its closest competitors Globe and PLDT by 0.2.

This speed index usually translates to real-world performance through higher streaming quality, lack of loading interruptions, and an overall better experience while consuming one’s favorite content on Netflix.

The Converge internet speeds have seen an 11% boost since the beginning of 2021 when it was only at 3.2 Mbps. The same can be said about the other providers though – they’ve only been able to crack Converge’s 2021 starting speed fairly recently. As such, the latter has topped the rankings for 11 out of 12 months during 2021.

Converge Co-founder and CEO Dennis Uy had this to say: “We’re delighted to be recognized by Netflix, the biggest content streaming service provider in the world, for delivering the best digital experience to their users in the Philippines. We’ve been steadily improving our speed throughout the year, a testament that we’re committed to uplift the digital life of subscribers.”

Chief Operations Officer Jesus C. Romero then added that video streaming has high demands on an internet connection due to its demand for not only speed but consistency as well. The company has imposed high standards on itself so that its customers don’t experience a viewing experience diminished by packet losses or long start-up times.

Converge remains to be one of the largest players in the ISP field, and asserted its commitment to quality service through a free speed upgrade of up to 800 Mbps in November of last year.
