Crunch Time? GOMO Users Face Issues on SIM Registration

With barely a week before the April 26 deadline for SIM registration, GOMO rolled out their updated app on April 19, which contains a more detailed procedure for SIM registration. While we have published a tutorial guide on how to register your GOMO SIM with the new app, several users–us included–are facing issues with SIM registration.

One of the issues that are commonly encountered through the new GOMO app is that the files we submitted–which consist of a photo of your valid ID and a selfie–could not be uploaded due to a server error. This is despite following the app’s guidelines that the file size should not be larger than 4MB.

Aside from that, other issues users faced include difficulties in uploading a photo selfie due to file size limitations–and receiving an unusual notification that their GOMO SIM has been terminated. The latter is an unusual issue considering that there are a few days left before the hard deadline for SIM registration.

GOMO has yet to respond to these issues regarding SIM registration on their new app, and they have to act fast–DICT has reiterated that they are not extending the deadline beyond April 26, giving GOMO users only a few days left before they can have their SIMs registered.

Im having a different issue registering my GOMO sim thru the app. everytime i click the Resend OTP it always give me a message that i exceeded the time sending the OTP. WTF! im doing this since yesterday and i tried uninstalling the app then reinstalled it. it keeps doing the same thing! and GOMO dont have a customer support to help. i only have 5 days left before the deadline of sim registration and i also have daily chores and i cant keep doing this the entire day! can someone please help!

Trying for the last two days. Always get the “There was an error…bla bla bla”. If Gomo had started the sim card registration process as early as other telecoms did, at least they would have had plenty of time to fix their issues. If they cannot handle this, they should not be in the telecom business, but rather sell tissue paper or something.

I can not upload also my file. Gomo has to come up with abrupt solution to this otherwise a bog problem since I used my gomo sim for gcash, bank accounts etc.. A tip for other gomo subscriber. If selfie pix can not be loaded due to large file try the front camera and it would be ok’d.

Just today, my gomo sim was terminated. I kept on logging in since the new gomo app requires OTP. I also encountered issues in uploading the ID and selfie due to 4MB limit. This is disgusting and gomo support is more on sales rather than technical issues on SIM registration.

I also been trying to register my sim since the day before yesterday and i finally succeeded just now.

These what worked for me:
1. Altered the image size of my government id using a windows app (you can also use android/ios app that does the same) to 3085 x 2059 pixels at 72 ppi (any size relative to this should work just fine). File size generated was 1.2mb

2. Set to the lowest file size the camera of my phone for the selfie (i set it as 4:3 image). In my test on my phone, 4:3 generates 2.2 mb at 8mp, 2248 x 3264 pixels

After doing these, i was able to register my sim.

Up til now I can’t register. Ang problema kasi dun sa app may notification noon na sinasabing wag magalala kasi ok naman yung details na ininput upon purchase ng sim and all that sa app. Tapos biglang mashashock na lang na may verify verify na din silang nalalaman. Ang problema ko ang dami ko pang natirang data doon. Bakit nung bumili ako ng data wala naman notif na ganun edi earlier sana naverify ko na.

2 days left till the deadline, and my simcard is still terminated for no apparent reason. Took me 2 days to try to get the machine to connect me to a live agent. When it was confirmed that they’d connect me to a live agent, the agent took 6 hrs to reply and the reply wasn’t any better than a machine’s automated reply. They dodged the issue and didn’t provide any help nor assurance . GOMO customer support is a joke and the company is unprofessional.

Grabe, di na ata ako makakagamit ng GOMO ko. Sinubukan ko na nung 19, hanggang ngayon wala parin ako narereceive na OTP, nag exceed nako ng request since kahapon. Nakakaumay. Ang mahal mahal ng simcard, palyado naman yung registration. Wala pang kwenta yung agent, sabi ko yung otp problema ko, yung pin naman yung sinasabi niya, parang tanga. Kala mo di nakapag seminar.

Frustrating that gomo, an ayala globe unit would upload an app thats not tested and cause so much trouble and headache now that sim registration period is ending soon and they didnt even publish an advise about the problem, an apology and when they will resolve the app problem. Its disgusting.

I am so disappointed about this SIM. I bought it via Gcash app since it was recommended by my colleague. I’m having a hard time registering my SIM. I did all the crop crop thing to minimize the size of my documents but still nothing ?
