DITO Telecom recently hit its 12-million subscribers target way ahead of schedule, but the company is showing no signs of complacency whatsoever. The DITO Telecom team has just announced passing the latest September 2022 technical review audit with flying colors, flying over targets with ease.
The company had committed a 70% population coverage and 55 Mbps broadband speed target in the past. This is a lofty goal for a company that has just recently launched operations in the country, especially in comparison to established players in the market.
Despite the odds, DITO Telecom has performed admirably in the NTC audit with a 72.39% population coverage and minimum average broadband speeds of 71.77 Mbps and 809.19 Mbps for 4G and 5G sites respectively. Those are truly impressive numbers. The company remains steadfast to achieving to its promises, and in doing so, effectively gains a solidified reputation in the country. People do say that the best marketing is to have a reliable service that consumers can be proud of and speak about to their peers.
This all hinges on how “sulit” the brand is perceived, while still providing a quality product that is more than usable in day-to-day life. Filipinos are quite value-centric based on consumer trends.
We won’t fail to overlook the mess that occurred recently between DITO Telecom and its local competitors, but the issue seems to be at rest for now. DITO CME Holdings Corp may have been financially unstable within the past year due to foreign exchange losses but its telecom division did experience an unprecedented 614% year-on-year growth, which is an optimistic sign of the things to come in the future.
Additions in the pipeline include implementation of next-generation technology, High Definition Calls for clearer quality, VoLTE, and exploring the Internet of Things (IoT). Increased nationwide coverage is also a goal the company is gunning for.
