With DITO nearing one year of operations in March 2022, the third telco is eyeing to expand its services by offering broadband internet to its customers. This was confirmed by DCME chief financial officer Joseph John Ong to ABS-CBN News, adding that it will become a full-service telco provider once they have completed its network build.

Ong also mentioned that DITO plans to launch its broadband services in early 2022, so it’s most likely that this will happen in time of the third telco’s first anniversary of operations. “DITO plans to be a full-service telco, which means all the services that you enjoy from the current players, basically Globe and Smart, we will also provide,” Ong said.”Short answer, yes there will be broadband, we plan to roll out early next year.”

DITO recently passed its second technical audit, where its coverage has reached 52.75%, with an average download speed of 89.13Mbps for 4G and 853.96Mbps for 5G. This is beyond DITO’s initial commitment of 51.01% coverage and minimum broadband speed of 55Mbps.

In addition to that, DITO is set to end on a high note as it has reached 5 million subscribers as of December and has earned over Php 2 billion in revenue from its prepaid services.
