LTO Extends Validity of Driver’s Licenses

LTO Extends Validity of Driver’s Licenses

After extending the validity of motor vehicle registrations expiring last month, it is no surprise that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is also extending the validity of driver’s licenses expiring during the months of April and May.

LTO Extends Validity of Driver’s Licenses

Through a memorandum, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has advised all its offices to extend the validity of driver’s permits (SP), driver’s licenses (DL), and conductor’s licenses (CL) that are due to expire from April 1 to May 31, 2022.

And so, driver’s permits (SP), driver’s licenses (DL), and conductor’s licenses (CL) that expired last month are still valid up to June 30, 2022. Meanwhile, said licenses expiring this month of May will be valid up to July 31, 2022.

The reason, just like before, is “to curb the transmission or spread of COVID-19 virus and observance of social distancing and other health and sanitary protocols to protect the health and safety of our employees as well as clients in LTO.”

For those who missed our recent post about the extension of the registration deadline for motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 4, you still have until May 31, 2022 to renew your vehicle registration.
