No Apple, Your Phones Aren’t Worth 100K

Stop being ridiculous Apple

Apple has officially announced pricing for their upcoming iPhone Xs, Xr, and Xs Max. And while we’re kind of used to sky-high pricing for iPhones by now, the amount of money that the company is asking for the top-tier configuration of their Xs Max is just downright ridiculous, and that’s speaking as someone who respects the iPhone line and understands what it tries to deliver to consumers. At Php 97,490, the iPhone Xs Max is literally the most expensive phone that’s offered in the Philippines today.

And there’s simply no reason for this ridiculous pricing. Granted that 512GB of flash storage isn’t cheap, but it shouldn’t cause a phone to have a price that’s the same as a premium gaming notebook.

There’s no feature in the iPhone Xs Max, or on the new batch of iPhones for that matter, that’s revolutionary or ground breaking. Hell, the new phones aren’t even good enough to knock off the P20 Pro off of DXoMark’s top benchmarks despite the fact the Huawei’s offering is already 5 months old at this point. Do we even have to mention the fact that it’s only now that their phones are getting dual SIM capability?

Yeah, Apple’s software ecosystem is still the best in the world, especially when you consider Android’s problem with fragmentation. But that software experience literally comes at a price, a price that’s not worth it anymore even if you consider the cheaper iPhone Xr, which is only a few grand cheaper than the Galaxy Note 9.

And there’s never been a better time to switch to Android. There’s so much competition right now in the Android space that there’s very likely a phone that’ll fit your budget and your needs at half the price that Apple is asking for their new iPhones.
