The vivo X90 Series Elevates The Smartphone Photography Game

We’ve done our fair share of coverage on the hyped vivo X90 series. These devices will come built-in with the latest chips in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and MediaTek Dimensity 9200, so on and so forth. However, the brand seems to be quite proud of its camera system that’s set to blow the competition out of the water. Here’s how the vivo X90 lineup aims to elevate the smartphone photography game to a whole new level.

vivo has effectively made the most use of its partnership with ZEISS to put as much of a professional experience in a smartphone as they possibly can. According to the brand, “multiple process technologies” effectively reduce flare and make night scene images pure. This will most likely reduce or even eliminate the odd lighting effect most cameras capture when a singular light source completely takes over an image taken in low light.

Using a special coating, the reflectivity has also been reduced by 42.8%. This takes away flare and ghosting effects that also plague smartphone cameras in less-than-ideal conditions. A special technology the company has developed also minimizes color loss across the spectrum.

It’s not just the hardware that’s gotten an upgrade though. On the software side of things, the vivo X90 lineup also got some well-deserved photography upgrades that might just catapult it to the top spot within the segment. They’ve developed the so-called “Firmament Night System algorithm” that allows users to shoot the night sky, all the stars and their radiance included, without the need for additional accessories.

This beautiful marriage of software and hardware can make amateur works seem more professional – and for professionals behind the lens, they can use it to make magic.

How do you view these images then? Well, on the 6.78-inch hyperbolic BOE OLED display that brings much more than 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The little details that differentiate the various shades of every color are taken into consideration here. Yes, even the tiny differences in colors that aren’t visible with most screens can be seen here. It’s up to your eyes to discern the difference.

At a peak brightness of 1300 nits, users can view their recorded videos and photos wherever they go; even when they’re under direct sunlight.

All things considered, the vivo X90 lineup is a series of phones you should keep your eyes on. Check out the PH site for more details.
