Google Introduces Google Job Search, Number Coding Feature On Google Maps And Google Go

Google has dropped a bunch of new stuff for pinoys.

Google for Philippines held their first event in Manila where they introduced key updates and new products to help and support Filipinos go about their daily lives.

The lineup of products and updates introduced during Google for Philippines included free WiFi spots dubbed Google stations, Google Go; Number Coding feature on Google Maps, jobs on Google Search as well as Digiskarteng Pinay. Here’s a quick breakdown of each new thing that Google announced:

Google Station
Google Station is a new Wi-Fi platform from Google that provides open, free and high quality Wi-Fi hotspots. Formed in partnership with PLDT and Smart, Google Stations will be available in more than 50 locations all over the Philippines including key transportation hubsby the end of March and is expected to launch in hundreds of more sites by the end of the year.

Google Go
Google Go is a new AI powered, “all-in-one-app” for the internet. It aims to help new smartphone owners who are just using the web for the first time to discover websites and apps easily. Google Go is also perfect for those with limited data as it’s optimized to save up to 40% of your data.

Number coding update on Google Maps
You’ll now be able to take your car out even on coding day as Google Maps apps will soon be able to recommend a route to avoid restricted roads. In partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Google Maps will soon have an option to input your assigned coding day in the app so that it can recommend the route keeping away from restricted roads to take to your destination.

Jobs on Google Search
Available job listings from the Department of Labor and Employment, Civil Service Commission, Kalibrr, Jobayan and Job Cloud will soon be directly searchable on jobs on Google Search. Filipinos will be able to filter search results by criteria such as job type, industry or city.

Digiskarteng Pinay
Powered by YouTube, Google has partnered with NGOs, government bodies, brands and creators to help empower women by connecting them to content that can help improve their lives. The Digiskarteng Pinay Youtube channel will provide content from different categories for women to help improve and their skills and possibly help create a livelihood for them.
