Whether we choose to plug it into our computer via USB or decide to print wirelessly, we didn’t have any issues with any printing tasks with the Smart Tank 580. Even if our teammates are new to the Smart Tank 580, they didn’t have a hard time doing printing tasks with it.

The prints are great. From scripts, and documents, to photos and visual aids, we’re happy with the print quality delivered by the Smart Tank 580. The colors are close to what we see on our screens, making this printer also great for printing some of our favorite photos in the studio.

HP claims that the Smart Tank 580 is capable of printing up to 6,000 black pages and 6,000 color pages with in-box ink bottles, and that holds: despite printing close to 1000 pages in both colored and grayscale, we have yet to buy new ink for the Smart Tank 580. That proves that this ink tank printer is frugal when it comes to consuming ink–all while giving us great print quality.

Several of our teammates use the Smart Tank 580 at the studio, and we love how the HP Smart app takes care with the majority of their printing needs. Aside from making wireless printing a breeze, the HP Smart app is handy for checking the printer’s status, along with troubleshooting in case we run into a few printing issues in between.
