Collaborations between brands have been a staple in most industries. One of which is the smartphone market where we see collaborations that sometimes surprise us. However, a lot of these partnerships never reach our shores so maybe making a list of the past collaborations that happened on the global market would make more Filipinos aware of them and voice out their interest. This may help brands notice the local demand for these kinds of products and hopefully bring them here.

Top 5 Best Phone Collabs from 2022
So, here are the top 5 smartphone brand collaborations we think would appeal to our local smartphone market.
Top 5 Phone Brand Collaborations to Date
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Star Wars Edition
- OPPO Reno Ace Gundam 40th Anniversary Edition
- ASUS ROG Phone 6 Diablo Edition
- OnePlus 8T Genshin Impact Edition
- realme GT Neo 3 Naruto Edition
Samsung and Star Wars
Samsung partnered with Star Wars in 2019, offering a Star Wars Edition Galaxy Note 10 Plus in red and black, featuring Kylo Ren imagery and a Light Saber-like S Pen. The phone also features custom UI, wallpapers, and extras like a case and custom Galaxy Buds. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor that’s paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB Storage.
OPPO and Gundam
Back in 2019, OPPO collaborated with Bandai’s Gundam and released the Reno Ace Gundam 40th Anniversary Edition. Only 30,000 units were released worldwide. The limited edition device pays tribute to the iconic RX-78-2 from Mobile Suit Gundam, featuring red, blue, and yellow/gold accents and a metallic silver body resembling a mobile suit’s frame. The phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 855+ that’s paired with 8 GB RAM and 256GB of storage.
ASUS and Diablo Immortal
ASUS went crazy with collabs for the ROG Phone 6, and the Diablo Immortal Edition has to be the best one to date. Aside from being officially available in the Philippines (unlike the rest of the collab phones in the list), ASUS incorporated a lot of Diablo Immortal key elements to the packaging–from the leather scroll, the packaging, down to the hidden details that can only be viewed using the included UV pen. As a true gaming phone, you get a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that’s paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.Â
OnePlus and Genshin Impact
OnePlus has a long list of collabs with Genshin Impact, and while only the 12R Keqing Editon got a wider release (the Philippines was not included, unfortunately), their execution with the Ace Pro Hu Tao has to be the best. Aside from the usual customized back panel, you get a plethora of accessories that correspond to Hu Tao’s theme–from the intricately-designed case to a special acrylic display of the popular Genshin Impact character. The phone itself is powerful with its use of a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that’s paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
realme and Naruto
While we did get the Coca-Cola 10 Pro 5G, one of realme’s better collabs was with Naruto for the China-only GT Neo3. Aside from there striking back panel design following the color blocking of Naruto’s outfit and his headband, the coolest part about this collab is the case, which is shaped like a scroll. The GT Neo3 was a feature-packed flagship killer with its Dimensity 8100 processor that’s paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, along with support for 150w charging.
So, there it is our top 5 picks of some of the collaborations that we think our local market would appreciate if it was available here. We’re hoping more brands to bring these kinds of collaborations to the Philippines. Don’t forget to check out the recent collabs that came out this year:
