The best V-series phone to date?

vivo is set to launch the successor of the V9 with the V11 in the coming weeks. Like any new phone, the V11 is hotly anticipated, as it poses to be the first mid-range phone to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. While we are waiting for the official launch, here’s what we know about the V11:

The in-display fingerprint scanner will be its standout feature

After this groundbreaking tech made its appearance to the X21, the V11 will be the first V-series phone to have an in-display fingerprint scanner. This should give the V11 an edge against other mid-range phones, as reports indicate that the V11 will use a next-generation variety that is speedier and more accurate than the one found on the X21.

 

Smaller notch, higher body-to-screen ratio

While Vivo made the all-screen display possible with the NEX, the V series will still sport a notch. However, recent teasers reveal a significantly smaller notch that translates to more screen estate and higher body-to-screen ratio.

 

More muscle under the hood

Aside from updated rear cameras (with AI of course), the V11 is reported to have beefier internals. Teaser posters confirm that the V11 will have at least 6GB of RAM—making it the first model in the V-series to do so.

 

It will come in gradient colors

Unlike its predecessors, the V11 will be adapting gradient colors for its back panel. We’re not sure if vivo will use glass or plastic: in previous iterations, all V-series phones sport plastic backs, while X-series phones sport glass backs. However, that might change with the V11.

 

Aside from the teasers on social media, we spotted a promo banner of the V11 in Greenhills. The India launch is scheduled for September 6 together with the X23, which means the Philippines launch date should not be that far away.
