ACER Announces AMD-powered Ryzen Nitro 5, Swift 3 Ahead of COMPUTEX

New silicon powering ACER’s new notebooks

ACER isn’t waiting around until the start of COMPUTEX next week to announce their new notebooks. The Taiwanese company has announced a refreshed model of their Nitro 5 gaming notebook, as well as their Swift 3 ultrabook with AMD’s latest Ryzen processors.

The 15.6-inch gaming-focused Nitro 5 gets the new 2.3Ghz quad-core Ryzen 7 3750H and dedicated Radeon RX 560X graphics, while the 14-inch Swift 3 gets a more sedate 2.3GHz Ryzen 7 3700U and Vega graphics, though users have the option of upgrading to a more powerful Radeon RX 540X GPU.

ACER’s new notebooks look similar to last year’s models and aren’t drastically different from their offerings from last year. Still, more CPU and GPU variety is always nice, and at least now consumers have more choices over hardware than the traditional Intel + NVIDIA combo.
