Apparently there’s a market for big Chromebooks
When you think Chromebooks, you think small, portable, always-connected devices that are cheaper than traditional notebooks. Not Acer. To the Taiwanese company, Chromebooks are another place where they can hawk big, 15-inch models. Yes, Acer has unveiled their updated 15.6-inch Chromebook ahead of CES, and boy is it massive, weighing in at 4.85 pounds.
The new device comes with either a fifth generation Intel Core i3 or Celeron processor, and a choice between a full HD display or a 1366 x 768 panel. Other specs include either a 16GB of 32GB solid state drive, as well as 2GB and 4GB RAM variations. Honestly we really can’t see the use case for a big 15.6-inch Chromebook (since you’re fairly limited to what you can do with the OS), but maybe there’s a market for this thing out there. The base model starts at $250 or Php 11220 and steadily climbs up as you bling out the specs.
