Meet the Liquid X1!

Acer has gone ahead and made its latest flagship smartphone, the Liquid X1 official. The Liquid X1 is the company’s latest flagship offering that aims to deliver top-end specs at an affordable price point. That’s the reason why Acer went with MediaTek’s octa-core SoC to power the X1.

Acer Liquid X1 specs

  • 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor
  • Mali-450MP GPU
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 5.7-inch HD IPS display, 720 x 1280 resolution
  • 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, F/1.8 aperture
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • 3G, LTE
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS
  • 2,700mAh battery
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat

It’s interesting to note that while the Liquid X1 uses the same octa-core processor that’s found in many of the flagships of local brands, it also sports LTE. This is the first time we’ve seen MediaTek’s octa-core SoC sporting LTE, and may mean that Acer went with a non-integrated LTE modem for the X1. If that’s the case, battery life may be an issue with the X1, though the only way to be sure is to handle the device later on during COMPUTEX. We’ll be posting our hands-on of the X1 later this afternoon. No price has been set as of yet for the X1.
