Cherry Mobile takes another wack at NFC!
We liked Cherry Mobile’s first NFC equipped smartphone, the Rave 2.0 and it seems they sold enough of the NFC powered device to warrant a revisit of affordable NFC smartphone concept. Teased by Cherry Mobile a few days ago and confirmed by our favorite Cherry leakster Cherry Angel, the Axis is Cherry’s second NFC smartphone and comes at a much lower price that the Rave 2.0, retailing only at Php 4,499.

While the specs of the Axis is compelling, the question needs to be asked: is NFC that prevalent in our country that Cherry Mobile felt the need to make a more affordable NFC smartphone? We’re hoping that CM also starts selling NFC accessories and tags to take advantage of the main feature of the Axis – more NFC enabled speakers perhaps?
