Alcatel Teases Upcoming 18:9 Smartphone Lineup

The full reveal will be announced during MWC next month

While Alcatel isn’t about to let their newest phones out of the bag during CES, the company is providing a little bit of a sneak peek at their upcoming 18:9 smartphones that will be officially unveiled during Mobile World Congress next month.

The company has confirmed that their upcoming 18:9 lineup will be split into three categories: the Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3 and Alcatel 1.

The Alcatel 5 series is pegged as the company’s “affordable premium” tier, offering features like face unlock, 18:9 displays along with dual-selfie cameras. It’ll be positioned as a counter to more expensive flagship phones by other brands.

The Alcatel 3, meanwhile, is aimed at giving customers a nice mix of new features while still providing a relatively achievable price point.

Finally, the Alcatel 1 is aimed at people looking for the most bang for their buck, offering premium-like look and feel without doling out a lot of cash.

Alcatel’s new phones aren’t ready yet for prime time, but as you can see the Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 1x has extremely nice looking externals. Let’s hope their innards match their flashy exteriors when they’re finally announced next month.
