Anker’s New Cable is a Must-Have for Your EDC

Anker’s New Cable is a Must-Have for Your EDC

Ever wanted to enjoy fast charging multiple devices while only using a single USB-C cable? Anker might have a solution for that with its new 2-in-1 USB-C cable that supports 140w fast charging and splits that power output to two of your devices.

This two-headed cable has a built-in “Smart Power Management” chip that adjusts power distribution based on the needs of your device. It works like this: If you’re charging your MacBook Pro and iPhone, it will split the power output to 100w and 30w while getting power from a 140w charging brick. If you’re charging two devices that support 65w charging (let’s say a Nintendo Switch and an Intel UltraBook), the cable will cap off at 130w by distributing 65 power output to both devices.

The cable is relatively long at four feet, with one foot being the two USB-C cables that can be shortened to help you with cable management. Like other cables from Anker, the 140w 2-in-1 USB-C is braided and is promised to withstand over 10,000 bends. One thing you’ll need to take note of about this 2-in-1 USB-C cable is that it’s not meant to function as a USB-C hub: only the first cable that’s connected will transfer data, and it’s at a slow 480Mbps USB 2.0 standard.

The Anker 2-in-1 USB-C cable is priced at $25(~Php 1.5k) and there’s no word yet on availability as of this writing.
