Apple iPhone 13 Pro Scores 137 in DxOMark, Beats Mate 40 Pro

DxOMark has recently put the Apple iPhone 13 Pro to the test, and Apple’s latest iPhone gets a score of 137, edging over the Huawei Mate 40 Pro by a point. The score places the iPhone 13 Pro in fourth place for the highest score in smartphone cameras for DxOMark, with the P50 Pro still on top at 144.

Looking through the score breakdown, the iPhone 13 Pro scored an impressive 144 points for photo, with DxOMark commending its accurate target exposure, fast and accurate autofocus speeds, wide dynamic range, and well managed texture/noise in most lighting conditions.

Despite having a bigger set of sensors, DxOMark notes that the iPhone 13 Pro’s overall photo performance is comparable to its predecessor, with improvements on several key areas. Aside from the new sensors, the iPhone 13 Pro gets added versatility with its longer 3x optical zoom (vs. 2.5x on the iPhone 12 Pro) on its telephoto camera.

“It’s fair to say Apple has managed to get the most out of its imaging hardware as most higher-positioned devices in our ranking come with larger and higher resolution sensors in their primary cameras.”

Like most iPhones, the iPhone 13 Pro excels in video with a score of 119, making it still one of the best phones for video. With a more stable exposure management and significantly better autofocus performance–with emphasis on its smooth refocusing performance, the iPhone 13 Pro is a great device for those who want to create crisp videos.
