ASUS Finally Releases Marshmallow Update For Zenfone 2

ASUS is finally rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Zenfone 2. The update covers both the ZE550ML and the ZE551ML – both powered by Intel’s Atom processor.

ASUS is also removing much of the bloatware that came with the phones when they were first released, possibly as recognition of its mistake in installing the said software in the first place. A total of 19 apps will be removed after the update is installed, though surprisingly the Taiwanese brand says that there will be less storage available, not more, once the update is complete, which may be because of Marshmallow’s larger size. You also won’t be able to install apps directly onto the SD card after the update – so take note of that before you download the OTA.

To check if your phone can install the update, go to Settings>About>System Update. If your device doesn’t have the option to install the update as of yet, it’d be best to wait a little bit since it usually takes a few days before the update completely rolls out.
