ASUS Launching The ZenFone Max Pro (M1) In The Philippines This June

It’s expected to fight with Xiaomi in the budget segment

It’s official: ASUS has confirmed that it’ll be launching its ZenFone Max Pro (M1) in the Philippines at the end of the month. Despite its confusing moniker (not to be confused with the recently released Max M1) the new phone is being hailed by the Taiwanese company as its new battery king.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M1) Specifications

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor
  • Adreno 509 GPU
  • 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage (expandable via MicroSD)
  • 6-inch Full HD+IPS display; 18:9 aspect ratio
  • (3GB/4GB): 13-megapixel main rear camera and 5-megapixel secondary rear camera with PDAF, LED flash
  • (6GB): 16-megapixel primary rear camera and 5-megapixel secondary rear camera with PDAF, LED flash
  • (3GB/4GB): 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash
  • (6GB): 16-megapixel front camera with LED flash
  • 4G, LTE
  • Dual SIM
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • Fingerprint scanner, NXP Smart Amplifier
  • 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charging

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is an interesting device since it’s supposedly a budget phone that’s priced lower than Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5, at least in India. The phone has a Snapdragon 636 chipset, 5000mAh battery and pure Android 8.1 Oreo, a first for the brand.

No pricing has been set as of yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised one bit if the Max Pro M1 continues the same aggressive pricing strategy the Taiwanese company has set for the ZenFone 5z.
