ASUS’ Astral RTX GPUs Has Four Cooling Fans

With NVIDIA unveiling their RTX 50 series at CES 2025, brands have started showcasing their RTX 50 series GPUs. ASUS has previewed its ROG Astral series of RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs, and the main standout is that they are the first to use a quad-fan design–with the fourth fan allowing for more dense heatsink fins for better overall cooling.

The ROG Astral GPUs have a vapor chamber design that has milled pathways for improved heat dissipation. It also uses a phase-change thermal pad for a more optimal heat transfer and improve the longevity of the thermal material.

It is also made with enthusiasts in mind with their 80-amp MOSFETS that allow for more than 35% extra headroom for higher overclocking potential, along with a protective PCB coating to protect against short-circuits caused by moisture or dust.

The ultimate version of the Astral series is the LC RTX 5090, which has a low-profile heatsink and liquid cooling through a 360mm radiator.

Aside from the ROG Astral, ASUS also has the ROG Strix in RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti models, along with the TUF Gaming line in RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070.

All of ASUS’ RTX 50 series GPUs will be available soon in the Philippines.
