ASUS loves to explore different form factors with its ROG line of gaming-focused computers, and the Flow Z13 is the brand’s latest feat. Making the ROG Flow Z13 unique is that it is a tablet that packs enough power as a gaming machine. Despite its tablet form factor, the ROG Flow X13 packs up to a 12th-gen Core i9-12900H processor and an RTX 3050 Ti GPU, along with up to 16GB DDR5 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Taking cues from the ROG Mothership, the Flow Z13 has all of its components housed beside a 13-inch touchscreen display that has a 16:10 aspect ratio and either a 4K/60hz or Full HD/120hz configuration. It has a built-in kickstand, allowing you to let the ROG Flow Z13 stand high above a desk or table, improving overall cooling. For thermal management, you have a vapor chamber, along with liquid metal thermal compound and fans that can operate at under 40db even under heavy loads.
When you need to use it as a conventional laptop, the ROG Flow Z13’s cover doubles as a keyboard, while those who want to game with it can connect multiple wireless controllers with it. It comes with two USB-C ports to allow you to connect multiple monitors or additional peripherals, along with a proprietary XG connector for the XG Mobile external GPU accessory if you need more power beyond the built-in RTX 3050 Ti GPU.
ASUS updated its XG Mobile system, now with an option for an Radeon RX 6850M XT GPU on top of various GPU options that include up to an RTX 3080. The XG Mobile also acts as a docking station for the ROG Flow Z13, having dedicated HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, an Ethernet port, and additional USB ports.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 will be available for purchase later this year.
