The ROG Phone 3 Gets a Hefty Price Cut

If you do not want to wait for the ROG Phone 5 and you’re totally fine with the previous-generation ROG Phone 3, ASUS Philippines announced that they will be giving a hefty price cut to both the Strix and Classic editions.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 Specs:

  • 8GB (Strix)/16GB (Classic) LPDDR5 RAM
  • 256GB (Strix)/512GB (Classic) UFS 3.1 storage
  • 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 120hz refresh rate, 1ms response rate, 240hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit color
  • 64-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 13-megapixel f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera
  • 24-megapixel selfie camera
  • 3G, 4G, 5G
  • WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint scanner
  • GameCool 3 Cooling System, AirTrigger 3, Stereo speakers, ESS DAC
  • 6000mAh 1-cell battery
  • 30w fast charging
  • Android 11

While they are a generation old, the ROG Phone 3 is still a very capable device with its Snapdragon 865+ processor (Snapdragon 865 for the Strix model) and fast 6.56-inch Full HD display with a 120hz refresh rate. You still get key gaming phone features like Air Triggers, GameCool, and a hefty 6000mAh battery with 30w wired charging.

Despite being a gaming phone through and through, you also get a capable rear camera setup: 64-megapixel main camera, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 5-megapixel macro camera.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 Price Cut Philippines

Whether you choose to go for the Classic or Strix edition, ASUS will be slashing off Php 10k on both variants, giving them a new SRP of Php 39,995 for the 12GB/512GB Classic Edition and Php 29,995 for the 8GB/256GB Strix Edition. To made both deals compelling, ASUS will also bundle the AeroCase 3 and AeroActive Cooler 3 as well—with the latter providing both physical cooling and a headphone jack for the ROG Phone 3.

The new pricing makes both phones compelling offerings, especially for those who are not willing to shell out loads of cash to get the ROG Phone 5, which is yet to go official in the Philippines.
