Want to give that ultraportable of yours serious gaming power but don’t know how? Well, there is a way to be able to use a discrete, dedicated GPU in your thin and light machine, thanks to ASUS’ ROG XG Station 2. In a nutshell, the XG Station 2 is basically a hardware enclosure for your GPU, that then attaches to the PC or ultraportable of your choice.
Of course there are caveats in using this particular product – your PC will need to have Thunderbolt 3 for this thing to work, which rules it out as an upgrade to older machines. It’s also not a portable device by itself, so it’s not going to go with you on business trips – you’ll have to do all that gaming at home.
The XG Station 2 is also a little expensive, coming in at Php 29,000. But if you don’t want to give up your nice and thin ultraportable machine but still want to seriously game when you get home, then it might be the perfect solution for you.
